"Innovative Award 2014 for Zonal officer and Executive Engineer, Zone-12"

•      Thiru Mahesan, Zonal officer and Thiru Murali, Executive Engineer, Zone -12 were awarded Innovative Award 2014 for the pebble pathway and a herbal garden at Madha Nagar Park in Mugalivakkam. The pebbled pathway has been provided at Madha Nagar Park, Mugalivakkam, and Independence Day Park, Nanganallur.Walking barefoot on pathway scattered with pebbles provides an acupressure effect. Herbal garden in Kumudham Nagar Park, Mugalivakkam was set to create awareness among the public on the importance of herbal remedies.

       Pebbles were provided at Madha nagar park which is being developed newly  in Division 156, Zone-12 . Pebbles were provided  for a short distance at the pathway in parks so that walkers can get an accupressure effect while walking on the pebbles with bare foot after completion of  the routine walking. This method is being created and in use at parks in Singapore. This is the first park where in pebbles were fixed in Southern Zones.

       In Division – 156, a new park was developed at Kumudam Nagar in order to create an awareness among the public and park users, herbal plants were planted at a separate bay of the park with small name boards showing the herb name and usage. 14 herbal plants are planted in this park. The names of herbs and usage are also enclosed.
